The annual whale migration in Australia is something that you have to witness if you’re travelling the East Coast of Australia from June – November and a whale watching tour is the perfect way to get up close to them as they cruise the coast.
These gentle giants make their way up to the breeding grounds an migrate back down south with their new born calves in the later part of the season – jumping, tail slapping and playing around in the waters.
As the most Easterly point of Australia Byron Bay is one of the prime whale watching locations – with hundreds of these beautiful ocean dwellers cruising past each year. You’ll head out towards the marine reserve of Julian Rocks and the main bay in search of whales, stopping off to spot the local dolphins and turtles too along the way.
Keep your camera at the ready as the whales regularly get up close to the boats and have no problems with jumping out of the water to show off!

Our whale watching tours are an outdoor adventure so please dress appropriately (e.g. no designer jeans etc). We launch our boats from the beach, we therefore ask you to please wear shorts or loose fitting pants / trousers that you can easily roll up to your knees as you will walk through water to get on to the boat.
We do not take shoes on the boat, you will be bare foot unless you have some sort of aqua shoes (e.g. crocs or reef shoes etc).
Please note that we have a 48 hour cancellation policy. This means that if you need to cancel or change a booking for any reason, we need to know 48 hours before the activity is due to commence. If cancellation or change is made after that time, we charge a 100% cancellation fee. If this is a problem, please contact us immediately.
