Before You Go:

ITINERARY: Blue Marlin Komodo is intent on always ensuring the safest and best diving possible. Because of this, we cannot promise a set itinerary. Each schedule is set based on currents, conditions, and group level of experience. A trip to Rinca to see the dragons is only promised if spending 3+ nights on board.

HOP-ON, HOP-OFF: As the Ikan Biru does not run on a set schedule, we use our speedboats to transfer guests to wherever the boat happens to be in the park at that time. You must be at the shop by 8am in order to embark on the boat. Likewise, all guests will be transported back to land around 4 pm on day of departure.

NO FLY TIME: You cannot depart the boat and fly on the same day. All dives on the day of departure will be no later than 3 pm, allowing all guests to be able to fly by 9 am the next day.

CERTIFICATION LEVEL: All divers on the Ikan Biru MUST HAVE AN ADVANCED LEVEL CERTIFICATION.

As this boat accommodates different groups of divers, we always wish to ensure all divers get to dive the best sites in the park. In Komodo, most of those sites are advanced. It is possible to complete your advanced open water certification on board for an additional USD 220.

DIETARY RESTRICTIONS: All meals are served family style by our amazing chef, Jos. We have no problem catering to special dietary needs, but please let us know beforehand.

LUGGAGE: While there are large lockers available onboard, we are more than happy to store your larger pieces of luggage back on land in our locked tech room.

INSURANCE: On Ikan Biru, we mandate dive insurance as Komodo is a remote diving destination with the nearest recompression chamber located in Bali. It is advisable to check your travel insurance for evacuations in the case of emergency. If not covered then we offer DAN (Divers Alert Network) Short Term Insurance for USD 40/10 days or USD 50/ 30 days.
